Luke 18:1-8
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
“For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’”
And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
This is such a timely passage for me. I almost automatically give up my prayers midway if the thought enters my mind that God has more important things to listen to, or that He already knows what he is going to do. Why do I bother him with my requests? The Spirit reminds me to continue to work on developing an ongoing conversation with God. This way I am truly praying in all circumstances. This is my goal.
Holy Lord, help me to stay in close contact with you. I would like to be communicating whenever I am awake and alert! You are with me always, and I can take advantage of that! 😁 Amen

Luke 18:1-8
I recently found a paper with these letters on it. ASAP. Always Say A Prayer. I believe it was a Sunday School unit on prayer. Each time you see these letters, they are preceded by a paragraph of feelings. Feeling rushed, too many deadlines - ASAP. Family chaos - ASAP. Worries more than you can bear - ASAP. God knows, he wants to ease our cares. He will respond - ASAP. A great reminder to always turn to Him in all situations.
Prayer: Gracious God, help me to never forget to ASAP. AMEN
Luke 18:1-8
This is a timely lesson for me. It was week one of camp. The camp census is 124 and my ten percent service attendance goal would be 12. I went to the chapel, got set up and prayed for a service that would glorify God and inspire those present. As it turned out, no one came. With 15 minutes left, I started to pack up and the Scout leader from Florida I mentioned yesterday was coming up the path to the chapel. We had a wonderful chat for about 20 minutes which went a long way toward redeeming the time. Like the persistent widow, I commit to show up every week and trust in the Lord to continue…
