John 6:35
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
Jesus provides all that we need spiritually, to have an eternal life with our triune God. I think also that Jesus’ words to the crowd were meant to calm them and give them peace and hope. If all of the people who heard Jesus’ words took them to heart, there could be plenty for everyone, shared among them all. If we truly loved our neighbors as ourselves, starting from day #1, would we have all of the problems we have today in the world? Would our problems seem so huge and insurmountable? Jesus truly is the bread of life, and the most important nourishment for us all.
Holy Lord, this reading today has encouraged me to be more loving and kind and generous to my neighbor. Help me to see more ways. Thank you for those you put in my path. Amen

John 6:35
Bread—the most basic of food. Bread has sustained the human body since the beginning of time. Belief in Jesus will sustain and nourish our spiritual body as well. When the Spirit is fed, we are better people able to do God’s work.
Prayer: Gracious God, My belief in you sustains me. Amen

Jesus is expressing the important truths of his own personal identify. That God always was,…
John 6:35
When we were born, we did not receive a feeding and then were expected to live the rest of our lives without more food and learning to feed ourselves. Likewise, when we were born again into the kingdom and took our first spiritually nourishing food from others, the expectation was to continue to be nourished and learn to feed ourselves with the Bread of Life through reading of the Word, prayer and community worship. There are many in the world who are food insecure, not entirely sure from where their next meal is coming. In Christ. we are will never go hungry because He is always present, ever available when we need spiritual nourishment.
