But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,…
This is so difficult for me, but it shouldn’t be. If the Holy Spirit gives the words to me, they will be the right words. My human nature wants me to say just the right thing. If God chooses to plant a seed with my words, He will. My hope arises from my faith, and my faith is in God Almighty, the maker of heaven and earth.
Father God, today I ask you to show me opportunities to share with others, and to help me use the words you put on my heart. Amen

1Peter 3:15
Peter has learned a thing or two about measured speech. During his time with Christ he showed the propensity to blunt speech, but in this letter he reminds Christians it is better to be respectful of others in sharing our faith. Legalism and Pharisaical rule-keeping damages our witness to the mon-believer. The message of the kingdom of God is Good News. It is a cause for joy and hope, not a manifesto of who will be consigned to Hell for engaging in some behavior on a special list of forbidden acts. Gentleness and respect (the King James uses meekness and fear) should be the approach to faith sharing and evangelism if we ever hope to engage this culture…
1 Peter 3: 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect
Peter anticipated that people would be curious as to why we believe in Jesus. Hopefulness in what is to come if we follow Jesus and believe is the way I live my life. I am hoping that when I meet people that they see Christ in me. I will attempt to share the good news of redemption through faith in Jesus Christ.
Dearest Lord, thank you for the faith and hope you have sent into my life. It i…
1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
I have never been asked this question, probably because I don’t talk about my beliefs with non-believers. From the rational side of my brain I would say that I just can’t believe that this life can be all that there is. There has to be more. But the real answer is that reading what the followers of Jesus witnessed in His life, death and resurrection, has strengthened my faith to the point that I have no doubts that my hope…
Peter 3: 15 So do I believe that faith is a personal matter that I should keep to myself. It is true I should never be a loud mouth or obnoxious if and when I share my faith. I Always want to be ready to give an answer gently and respectfully when asked this .As long as I do what is right, hopefully they will see the difference in me. Christians are not called on to condemn those who are curious about our hope and faith. Nor are we to be vindictive, vengeful, or insulting to those who disagree, we should explain our faith without harshness or treating others in a proud or arrogant way. no matter where we live …
1 Peter 3:15 But in your heart set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. When I first read this passage, all I could think of was evangelism. Having the knowledge of the Bible to answer any question and explain my faith. No! I know I don’t possess that knowledge, although Transformers has certainly expanded my understanding of the Bible. Explaining my faith scares me a lot and I do not speak of it often. What I do, and I hope it is enough, is to live my faith. To have people see Jesus through …
