A Daily Devotion for Monday, July 20

Isaiah 40:28-31

Do you not know?

Have you not heard?

The LORD is the everlasting God,

the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary,

and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary

and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary,

and young men stumble and fall;

but those who hope in the LORD

will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.

These are such reassuring words- we all have times when we feel overwhelmed or exhausted emotionally. Life can be difficult to bear at some points. But when we know we have God on our side, when we know we have Jesus as our Savior and friend, our strength is at hand. We will soon again be filled with joy. When we walk with God, we are truly never alone. As the verses above say, we will experience His strength and power, and our spirits will soar and run and not grow weary. God rejuvenates us when we call on Him.

Holy Lord, with your guidance I continue to learn more about life and more about you. I am thankful beyond words for all you have done and continue to do in my life. Be with our family, Lord, and help us to navigate life’s challenges. Amen

Isaiah 40:28-31 Renewed Strength

I couldn't help but begin singing "On Eagles Wings". The words speak so beautifully to Isaiah's verses.

And God will raise you up on Eagles wings,

bear you on the breath of dawn,

make you to shine like the sun--and

hold you in the palm of God's hand.

This will happen if we remember to turn to God when we are overwhelmed. To have God hold me and my needs in the palm of his hand is so comforting.

Prayer: Gracious God, Thank you for your beautiful words that paint an amazing picture to reassure us of His love. AMEN

Renewed strength

(Focus: People who feel exhausted

Todays’s Reading Isaiah 40:28-31

Isaiah 40:31

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

.

This verse tells us God gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Right now in my life I am feeling exhausted, discouraged, and overwhelmed. His promise is that I  will never grow tired, but as I trust in Him, He will renew my strength. Like eagles that rise above the storm, those who hope in the Lord are lifted beyond their own abilities and given…

Isaiah 40:28-31

“Strength to the weary, power to the weak.” We have all, at some point, had moments when we felt our physical or emotional tank was empty only to be pushed forward by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is important to keep in mind that until

our last breath, God is shaping and molding us. That process will at times be exhausting but those are the times Isaiah’s words remind us we are works in progress and “those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Today is a new chance to soar on wings…
