A Daily Devotion for Tuesday, July 21

Exodus 33:7-11

These verses describe the “tent of meeting” where Moses spoke with God. Anyone was allowed to go to the tent with a question, but it was Moses who was allowed to speak directly with God. I am wondering if these verses are used to support the Catholic Church’s role of the priest. But Jesus taught us we all have access to God- direct access. We do have a sacred place, a place we are assured God will dwell, and that is our Church. It is a special place for us to gather, to meet together to worship and experience God’s presence together.

Holy Lord, we miss our church building, and look forward to the day we can gather together to worship you as a family. Help us to return when it is time. Amen
