Revelation 3:20
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."
Let me begin by admitting to confusion about the book of Revelation in general. But this verse tells us something Jesus would likely have said while teaching along the way. Jesus is ready to be with each and every one of God's creation. He is at the door, knocking. I suppose some never hear him, or at least do not recognize the sound. Some ignore the knocking and choose never to investigate. Even when we know Jesus is there, waiting for us, don't we sometimes ignore the knocking?
Holy Lord, I want to welcome you in, and to answer your call. Please be in my life, every minute of every day. I am sorry for the times I do not respond because I do not hear you, or do not recognize your knock at the door. I often feel undeserving, and this gets in my way. Amen

Revelations 3:20
When I read this, I thought of Sunday’s scripture of Jesus calling the disciples. They certainly heard and answered the “knock.” I believe that when I see or hear of a ministry that seems doable for me, it is Jesus knocking. I know he directs most of what I do.
Prayer: gracious God, thank you for guiding my work. I try to listen closely. Amen

Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
I need to fan the Holy Spirit within me not giving an ear to the devil. I need to make the effort to stay in fellowship with God, because he wants to stay close to me, to study his word, and this will give God the opportunity to bless me. If I don’t make the effect the enemy will take over my life I want to intentionally keep his life changing presence within me because I want to have the opportunity to…
Revelations 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
I hear Jesus telling me that He wants to be in my life. I find that sometimes I take Him for granted. I put Him on the back burner because I have something that seems more important to do at the time. This is Jesus telling me that He continually knocks on the door of my heart. He is always eager for an invitation to come in. I have to remember to always put Jesus first and listen to His voice in my heart. He will…
Revelation 3:20
Search “Jesus knocking at the door,” and you will see many variations on the scene. The one feature all interpretations have in common is the absence of a door handle on the outside where Jesus stands. We must be listening for and actively respond to His knock. Jesus does not conscript or coerce us to follow Him. That would not be an accurate reflection of God’s love. Note also, Scripture does not say if a righteous person hears and opens the door, but anyone. Jesus can and does call anyone to follow Him to salvation and eternal life. For we who believe, one of our tasks to to help others who do not to hear Jesus’ knocking and…
