Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
God sees all of it. I don’t see but a tiny fraction of the plan. Life decisions, big and small, should all be made with God in our heart. Do I do this? Not consistently enough. Obedience to God needs to include communication with Him. I certainly can learn from scripture. I also need to keep communication open and active in order to hear when God has special instructions for me. God sees all of it, every last detail.
Father God, I am on a journey to know you better. You already know everything about me. I want to follow you more closely. I do not want to miss any of your plans or wishes. I want to do what you would have me do. Guide me, Lord. Amen

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 I remember many years ago reading the story of Jonah and the whale to my granddaughter. When Jonah disobeyed God and tried to hide and run away, her response was “you can’t hide from God.” I was impressed. She was six. Now reading Solomon’s words, we are reminded that God does see all! We can’t hide our sins from him. As we go through life trying to obey God, we know we falter at times. I hope God understands my missteps and sees that my love for him is stronger. Prayer: gracious God I know you know me fully. Direct my path to be in step with you. Amen
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Solomon, a person with as complicated a life as anyone, boils “the whole duty of man” down to a single sentence. There have been and probably will be many days I have and will be derelict in that duty. Solomon also reminds me God will bring it all into judgement. I may be forgiven, but I have a lot to answer for. Obedience is elusive in the heart of a sinner, but today I will be given yet another chance.
Prayer - Have mercy on me, O God. This sinner wants to live in obedience, but often stumbles and falls. I give thanks for the Son who bore the sin of the world and the Holy Spirit who…

The obedience we give to God is so important in this life on earth. We will be judged according to what we did while on earth. Experiencing his presence in our lives and the transformation this brings to us is wonderful. We love Him with all our heart, mind and strength. Through His example we are taught to love others. This is how we will be judged on judgement day. All we hav…
