1Peter 2:2(-3)
Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, (now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.)
I am not at all sure why I didn't include verse three in the readings list. Consider it included! I remember Pastor Gil talking about these verses one Sunday. He often spoke of how important it is to read scripture regularly. I had gone through many periods in my life of being more or less into reading the Bible. But once I started to read in a more purposeful and consistent way, all kinds of things opened up to me spiritually, and stayed open! Since reading scripture on a regular basis, my relationship with God has changed. Along with that I have been more open to changing things about myself, and actually being different. God is good, and his Word is a beautiful blessing. Amen

1 Peter 2:2
Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation—
Peter wrote that those who have recently trusted in Jesus are like babies, who desire to drink milk that makes them grow. Like them, new Christians should desire to learn all that the Bible tells them about God and how to live for Him so that their spirits can grow. They have to learn to stop doing things that God would never do—things like hurting people, tricking them, and saying bad things about them. As I have grown in my spiritual from an infant to an aging adult Can I help others to read th…
1Peter 2:2(-3) If bread is the staff of life for people, milk is the staff of life for infants. This precious fluid is a complete food that sustains growth and development. Peter likens the teachings of Jesus to spiritual
milk, inferring it has all the essential ingredients for us to grow and develop our faith. There is also an image here of maternal nurturing of those seeking to grow in faith, yet another of the many dimensions of God’s love for us.
Prayer - Nourishing God, fill me up, Lord, and make me whole. Amen
1 Peter 2:2
Peter chose a great example for the people. Like a Newborn who instinctively knows it needs milk as nourishment, so these new Christians should crave the words Peter gives them about Jesus and his sacrifice. The message holds true today. We still need to spend time with His words. They will nourish our faith and help it grow.
Prayer: Gracious God, Many, many thanks for this group of transformers that keep me nourished with your words. Amen
