Hebrews 10: 19-25
verses 19-22: Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
Can you imagine how surprised I was this morning to read these words and remember our conversation on Tuesday regarding prayer? I was trying to relate something I heard on a broadcast sermon from Allistair Begg. These verses put into words exactly why we end our prayers with, “in Jesus’ name.” It is Jesus and His sacrifice, and our faith in what He has done for us which ”tear the curtain”. We have a new and direct way to know God, to speak to Him, and to live in His presence with confidence.
Father God, I owe everything to you, and to the sacrifice of your Son. You have invited me into a special relationship, and I will not miss this opportunity. I am so thankful for your listening and active presence. In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen

Hebrews 10:19-25 Verses 24-25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Technology is everywhere and can come in various convenient forms. However we can have a close relationship with God without any elaborate technology. We so need encouragement from each other to share our faith and to strengthen one another in the Lord as we worship together. The Lord knows that without trials or tribulations in life, our faith would not be tested, and we would not grow or persevere; and without perseverance our lives woul…
Hebrews 10:19–25 24. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Most of us are part of multiple communities. Communities that offer a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common ideas or interests. Our city or town is one community, our neighborhood another. Most important of all, however, is the sense of community and our church family can provide. We most often call it fellowship; that sense of family that works together for good. Now that Covid seems somewhat under control, I would…
Hebrews 10: 19-25
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another---and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
These verses reinforce the wonderful sharing of the meaning of the Bible verse on a personal level at our Tuesday night devotional meetings. Not only do I learn new information from the weekly readings, I am finding how the readings affect all of us personally. This hour opens up so much for me in how God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit interact and work within each of us on a spiritual level. I…
