Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
God instructs Joshua, who will take the place of Moses to lead the Israelites into the promised land. When God calls us, and gives us a job to do, why would we ever believe He would leave us on our own? What I take away from this passage is God's promise, again, to help us to finish what has been started. When I ask God for help and guidance, it will come, but I do need to be in relationship with Him to hear it. It is all too easy for me to get started on something, and then totally take over the job, never stopping to check in with God.
Holy One, help me to remember you are with me to continue to guide me, not just to get me started. You are my inspiration, my leader, my guide and my partner. I am grateful. Amen

Meditating on God’s word, requires discipline. If we se…
 Joshua 1:9.
We live in a culture that prides itself on self-reliance. Pull yourself up by the bootstraps, etc. God’s words to Joshua are so important. We do need to be strong and courageous as we go through life but more important than that is to remember who is by your side through everything.
Prayer: GraciousGod, please let me never forget you are always with me. Amen.
