John 14:1-3
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may also be where I am.”
These are verses that have always given me great comfort and peace. They certainly don’t explain in any detail, but Jesus told his disciples in no uncertain terms that they would eventually be with him again. Here is a far-out idea, but is it possible that we each have our own personal “second coming” when Jesus takes us to be with him? I don’t know how it will happen, but I know God has promised us a peaceful and beautiful eternity with Him.
Holy Lord, I am happy today to have reached a milestone birthday, in good health. I am thankful for all of your many blessings. May I live out my life in a way which is pleasing to you. Amen

John 14:1-3
While these verses are beautiful and often quoted, there is much trust involved in believing these words. To think Jesus has thought enough of me to prepare a place for me AND that he will come and be with me is almost unbelievable—except for those of us who do believe.
Prayer: Gracious God, I thank you for the love you have shown me in these verses. Amen
JOHN 14: 1-3
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
One of the most familiar verses in scripture. This verse is so reassuring to believers and really speaks to my heart. Jesus is telling his disciples he must leave them in order to get everything

John 14:1-3
I remember a sermon on this verse that preached a broom closet in God’s house would be infinitely better than a mansion in this life. Our visions of heaven are seen through a glass dimly, but what is clearly stated several times in Scripture Is Jesus will return to bring those who believe to heaven to join the great cloud of witnesses who went before them. Our waiting is not to be passive, but to be part of kingdom here and now by sharing God’s good news in any way we are able and equipped. This is one way we prepare for the Second Coming.
