2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
The hardest thing for me to give cheerfully is my time. I tend to hold on to it and protect it from obligations, as if somehow this will be rewarding. In truth, I am bored and restless when I don't have something planned to accomplish. What am I protecting by holding on to my time?
Holy Lord, help me to remember to use more of my time in ways which are pleasing to you and helpful to others. You will give me all that I need. Amen

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
When we serve God with all we can, we give what we can of ourselves , our time, talents, resources and do so cheerfully for God loves a cheerful giver. The Bible includes more than two thousand verses that deal with our responsibilit…
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
I think a better word than cheerful would be grateful. Cheerful to me means happy or jolly. Grateful giving acknowledges our appreciation for all we have, whether it is scarce or abundant, and being thankful. It is gratitude that allows us to share have we have: our possessions, time, and talents.
Prayer: Gracious God, I am so grateful and thankful for all you have given to me. Amen
2 Corinthians 9:6-8 I am not reliably cheerful, but I hope that I am perceived as giving. Being blessed in many things brings the responsibility to share blessings with others. What those reluctant to give seem to misunderstand is that generosity is not a zero sum game. I don’t lose anything when I give time, talent or treasure away to bless another and honor God. In truth, generosity is a faith force multiplier, strengthening both the recipient the giver.
Prayer - Merciful God, on the cusp of this new year, grant me a heart of cheerful generosity so that You are glorified in my giving. Amen
