A Daily Devotion for Friday December 27

Isaiah 40: 29-31

He gives strength to the weary

and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary,

and young men stumble and fall;

but those who hope in the LORD

will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.

When I feel beaten down or threatened by the world, these beautiful verses will return me to God. We can all become weary and feel threatened by negativity and hopelessness. God is waiting for us to turn back to Him at just those times. God’s love for us rescues us from drowning in these negative emotions.

Holy Lord, help me to know you are with me, no matter the circumstance. Amen

Isaiah 40:29-31

There have been times when I have felt so discouraged by what life has thrown at me and the question “why” creeps into my mind. As I turned to prayer during these times, it helps me to realize that I am looked after. God will provide what I need to endure any situation in my life even though it seems ridiculously difficult.

Dear God, please give me the faith to know and feel that you are always with me and watching over me and please forgive me for those times when I ask why and have doubt. Amen

Isaiah 40:29-31

As many if you know I have had a rough time going through a lot medical issues, grief, depression, anxiety and issues that made me feel more than weary. The feeling stumbling and falling is exactly where I’ve been but I needed to find hope and needed the reminders that I’m not alone and that God will provide the hope and strength that will help me. I’m so thankful for my faith and the Holy spiritual reminds me God will renew me and give me strength.

Dear good and gracious Lord thank you for restoring my hope and strength which helps me daily grow in a positive way and soar like the eagles! Amen

Isaiah 40:29-31

These verses are very beautiful and poetic. They remind me that much of my strength comes from my Lord. If we all remember this, we have the hope of comfort and renewal. So much of our beliefs rely on hope. When we feel overwhelmed and weak, we need to remember who can help.

Prayer: May I always turn to you for strength and comfort. AMEN

Isaiah 40:29-31

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Although the lord gives power to the faint and weary if I am worn out from continually pushing my physical limits I would hope I would recognize the need for both  physical rest and a renewal of my faith. The lord may give me more energy in particular instances, but it is never…

Isaiah 40: 29-31

Year’s end is a often a time of retrospection and reflection. This passage is a reminder of how often over my lifetime I was empowered by the Holy Spirit to do something that was beyond what I possibly could have achieved relying solely on myself. I may not have always soared like an eagle, but I consistently seem to have enough to walk and not be faint. Heading into a new year, I need to continue to keep this in mind and renew my hope.

Prayer - My hope is in You, Lord. I pray for a new year of good health and to be powered by the Holy Spirit to be an effective ambassador for Jesus…
