Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
From this verse I would conclude that the “image” of God is not a particular color or body type or size or shape. It is more likely something I cannot see. God is within each and every one of us. We were created to live and breathe and to seek Him. This “image” is not likely to be something we can draw on paper with a pencil. Maybe the image is actually a potential which we are all born with, but which grows and develops as we grow closer to God. I like that idea, and it makes some sense to me.
Holy Lord, help me to realize the potential you intended for me. Help me to develop in your image, and to be thankful and open to growth. Amen

One only needs look to nature to understand unique. God created diversity in all species and we cannot deny that. Take birds for example. Compare the hummingbird to an Osprey. Both birds, but there the similarities end. The tiny hummingbird relies on sight and smell to find food and is physically equipped to extract nectar with its long beak and even longer tongue. The Osprey is a large bird and relies on sight to find food. It can spot a fish swimming under the water while flying high above a lake or pond. This means that humans, unlike other creatures, were made with a special likeness to God, reflecting his attributes and purpose.
