Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
It is easy to make promises and to be generous when things are going well, and one has been treated kindly and with respect. But our second chance from God did not come at such a time. God offered us his ultimate grace simply out of love for us, and not because we deserved it or earned it. I should remember this when I become self critical or feel discouraged about my discipleship. and likewise, I should be careful not to withhold love or forgiveness from another because of their actions.
Holy Father, thank you for your love for me, for all of the second chances you have offered. And thank you for the ultimate “second chance” you offered your creation, simply out of love. Amen

As I read this devotion I thought what would life be like without second chances to be forgiven and forgive. We all come short of the glory of God at one time or another inner lives. We all make mistakes as we journey on in this life. Every day is a new day that we can make changes in our lives, forgive others and ask to be forgiven. Without Jesus dying on the cross this would not have been possible.
Dear God, Let me always remember that it is by your grace we are set free to make new beginnings and right wrongs we may have done. Amen.
Romans 5:8
This verse brings to mind the hymn, “What Wondrous Love Is This.” It should also be specifically cited when we hear someone say that God could never love them because of whatever it is they have done. With God, our past is not our future. Faith can overcome any sin through Jesus’ sacrifice. Every sinner has the most important second chance of their life by genuine holy repentance and asking, even in the face of their sin, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
Prayer - Jesus, thank You for rescuing me, a sinner, from eternity without God. Amen

Romans 5:8
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us
Without Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins, no one would have eternal life. Jesus Himself said no one comes to the Father except through me. Jesus explains the reason for His birth, death, and resurrection—to provide the way to heaven for us because we could never get there on our own.I can hardly fathom this sacrifice. This reminds me of a courtroom scene in which I am on trial for my sins and God is the judge. My sins against God are serious, and accordingly if I don't show repentance I will die spiritua…
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Second chances. God the Father gave us Jesus while we were still sinners. God had great plans for us and through his love allowed Jesus to die on the cross to save us. We were adopted as children of God with the hope that we would become like Jesus. Christ died for us.
Dearest Lord, thank you for loving me so much that you sent your Jesus to die for me. Jesus is my Savior and Lord. In whose name I pray. Amen.
