A Daily Devotion for Thursday, Feb. 2

Isaiah 5:20

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

This verse reminds me of times when I may have been swayed off course a bit. Sometimes we can be tempted to see things a little differently than they really are. Have you ever had a "friend" who encouraged you to join in with something that was not quite right? Gossip? Meanness? Evil does seem like a very strong word, but even small unkindnesses are evil. Even when we mean no harm, harm may result.

Lord, help me to be kind, to remember always to make the good, righteous choice. Your Holy Spirit will help me if I just listen. Amen
