A daily prayer from the New England Conference
The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.
You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
James 2:17 “In the same way, faith is dead when it doesn’t result in faithful activity.” Hey God,
thank you for the models and teachers of faith who wrestled with the same things we do today.
The words from James reminds me/us that we are not alone in wrestling with what is sometimes the easier way of life.
How often have I/we taken the easy way of claiming to have faith but not lived into the actions it calls me/us to take?
Even in the hard or controversial words of Scripture, we find hope in those who have shown us how to live into active faith.
Praise God, we are not alone in the struggle or in the places we move in active faith for You have provided others to walk with us.
Your gift of the Spirit is sustains and remains with us in living our faith.
Thank you for your steadfast love and kindness.
In the name of LOVE,
AMEN.
