A daily prayer from the New England Conference
Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.
You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
Read Luke 13: 10 – 17
Lord Jesus,
Each generation finds itself bound up and bent over.
Crippled by diseases that will not let us go. Pressured by policies that keep the marginalized on the margins.
Tied into knots as the right and the left bark and bite into a chaotic screech.
At times even our own religiosity interferes with our ability to standup straight
and see you, to see what you are about in this world.
Unbinding.
Healing.
Setting free.
With a touch, the crippled woman “was straightened up.”
Unbound.
Healed.
Set free.
Set us free, Jesus.
Set your children free.
Set me free Jesus.
And we will rejoice at all the wonderful things. Amen.
