Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
This sounds so simple but is really very difficult for me. I am one of those who really can’t imagine God being interested in every concern that takes hold of my brain. But I also will say there have been many many times when God has relieved my anxiety and given me peace, shortly following my prayer. I should learn. God does not likely have a scale, on which he weighs every prayer for ‘importance’, before deciding on what to do. I am thinking I should not worry about that. By communicating my hopes, fears and anxieties, I stay closer to God, and am more likely to hear , see, and recognize his responses to me.
Holy Lord, thank you for being with me this morning, to teach me again about prayer. I am grateful. Amen

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Once I give this concern to God I have to have faith that he will answer, if I take this concern away from God and keep on Trying to solve the problem on my own, I…

The key words for me in this verse are “with thanksgiving.” Beginning each prayer with a thank you for all you’ve given me. Then proceed with your request. I’m sure I’ve neglected to do that many times. He does know I’m thankful, but those words certainly should be said out loud.
Prayer: Gracious God, help me remember to thank you whenever we talk. I should never forget all you’ve given me. Amen
Philippians 4:6
I try, and with God’s help, generally succeed in tamping down anxiety over the ups and downs of this life. Like the child throwing starfish back into the sea at low tide, I must focus on the things I am capable of influencing, and do my very best at that, even though some starfish may not be rescued. My goal, not always met, but always strived for, is to refuse to yield to anxiety and trust in God’s provision, care and protection.
Prayer - Generous and merciful God, it is with humble thanksgiving that I approach Your throne of grace with my petitions for the world, my community, family and myself. Strengthen my trust in Your love and…
