Daily Prayer

Aug. 19, 2022

A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

Our doubt seems to outgrow our faith,

Our sincere prayers feel unheard,

Our souls thirst like a desert in the sun.

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

In our desperation, desolation and depression,  When suffering with financial hardship, broken relationships, illness, and even death,

Help us, our rock of refuge and strong fortress.

Let us proclaim “Bless the Lord, O my soul,”

In our new, joyful, and exciting journeys,

New births, marriages, confirmations, and baptisms,

New beginnings, new opportunities,

May we bless your holy name,

Our hope and our trust.

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

Your mercy and grace more than satisfy us, You renew us and quench our dry spirits with hope and revelation,

You redeem us from disease, despair and even our own sins,

You fight for justice for the oppressed.   Rejoice all nations.

Whoever and wherever we are,

Bless the Lord with our whole being.

Shout out in the joy of salvation.

Lift up our hearts to God in praise.

Bless the most Holy name.

Bless us, so that we may be blessings to all nations! Amen!
