Daily Prayer

May 16, 2022

A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

God of peace, we need your Spirit flowing in our hearts and lives today. We want our home to be with you and the assurance that you bring. In this world of pandemic and war, we find ourselves unsettled and stressed. How can we be safe and still serve in love? We desire to feel the peace that you bring. Too often we have sought our peace on the world’s terms and we have failed to find it. Move us from the fear of the unknown to the certainty of the peace that only you can give. May we know that you are advocating for our needs and all anywhere who are struggling this day. Send us out as ambassadors of your love and peace that we might lift others from their troubles to your home of peace. We pray in the name of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. By Rev. Dr. Wesley Palmer, Executive Director of the Preacher’s Aid Society Inspired by John 14: 23-29
