Daily Prayer

July 13, 2021 A daily prayer from the New England Conference The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions. Today's Prayer Precious and everlasting God, you are the one who created us, and you are the one who sustains us. You know us intimately, our thoughts, hopes, and fears. And you hold us in your right hand, loving us as your beloved children. As you promised to remain with David, through thick and thin, we know that you also promise to remain with us. Your steadfast love is with us. Your covenant will stand firm. For that, we give you thanks. What a relief to be able to rely on you, and know our faith is in good hands. Gather us up now, Lord, as we start returning to your houses of worship. We have been scattered to the winds throughout this pandemic, Lord. Our thoughts, our fears, our sense of safety has been all over the place. Gather us back together in mind and spirit. Bring us back to the fold, where we can feel at home again. And then, as you promised, we shall not fear any longer, or be dismayed, nor shall any be missing. For we are yours. In Jesus name we pray, and through the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen. By Bonnie-jean Rowe First UMC (Framingham, MA), Commonwealth East District Conference Board of Laity; DCOM secretary, Commonwealth East District Psalm 89:20-37, Jeremiah 23:1-6
