A daily prayer from the New England Conference
The clergy and laity of the New England Conference are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week. You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.
Today's Prayer
O Lord, Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning. I've lived the long night of the soul, weeping for the 600,000+ Americans who've died, wailing for the loss of 3.82 million worldwide. We felt you hid your face from us. Yet, you remind us that joy comes with the morning. As I awake today, remind me of your favor, and your faithfulness. Be gracious to me. Be my helper! Help me to be gracious to others. How can I keep from singing your praises, dancing in jubilation? How beautiful it is to be with your beloved children once again, sharing in a holy embrace. I cried out to you for help, and you have healed me. I will give thanks to you forevermore. Amen.
