Jeremiah 29:10-13

This is what the LORD says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I

Matthew 6:34

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Even with God’s promise to always stay by our side, we will have troubles. The difference for believers is that we experience the troubles with God by our side. We do not need to ever feel alone. Most of us have family and friends nearby, or living with us. But some live alone, and endure many of life’s hardships with little human comfort. God is ever-present, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Always present, listening and waiting for us to turn to Him. We can always, in every circumstance, face our troubles with God at our side.

Holy Lord, the truth of your presence in my life is my greatest treasure. I am truly thankful beyond words. Amen

Jeremiah 29:10-13. Matthew 6:34

Today's writer speaks to his grief about losing his wife and his worry about his own future. He realizes that all that worry about the future was robbing him of enjoyment in the present. In his prayer at the end, he sums things up with that wonderful word HOPE. Hope is what God gives us even in our darkest hours. We know he loves us and has a plan for our future.

Prayer; Gracious God, Your plan for my life and my hope for the future are such a gift. Thank you. AMEN

TRUSTING GOD’S PLAN

(focus:;widows and widowers

Matthew 6:34

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.9

The writer in The upper room this morning learned he just needed to be patent , make the best  of the circumstances and trust God. Jesus instructs us to stop being uneasy, anxious, and worried. This verse gives us exact instructions to quit torturing ourselves with negative thoughts and feeling. When we do we are not only harming ourselves, we are also disobeying one of God’s commands.,God knows exactly what we need and he promises to provide for us. Why oh Why then it is…

Jeremiah 29:10-13/Matthew 6:34

Just last night, the Transformers talked about God’s plan and trusting in that plan. Jeremiah offered hope to the exiled Israelites, but the hope would not be realized for 70 years. One great hope we have today is for the return of Christ and redemption of our fallen world. The Church has been awaiting this hope not for 70 years, but for nearly 2000. Matthew reminds us that though we wait, we should live each day in that hope without worrying what the next day will bring. Humans plan and God laughs. God plans and worlds change. Best to lean on and trust the Master Planner.

Prayer - All-powerful God, help me to discern, trust in and…
