Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
These verses do not directly refer to the experience of loneliness, but they point us to comfort when we need it for any reason. God is clearly there for us when we are lonely. We need to actively remember Jesus' promises and go to him. The "peace of God" is the real thing. It is free for the asking, and worth remembering.
Holy One, help me to remember you first when I feel alone. You are there, always, waiting only for me to seek you out. Amen
Becky, transforming
