1Corinthians 15:33-34
Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character." Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God--I say this to your shame.
It is so true that hanging around people who don't share your values often leads to changes in you, not in them. If we are not careful, bad habits or tendencies can easily become part of our own repertoire. Bad language is a perfect example. How much easier is it to slip in a curse or a profanity after spending hours or days with people who talk that way? Thankfully, as I have gotten older, this has become less and less of an issue for a number of reasons. But this is still very good advice, and so important. It is much better to please God with our choices than to please a new friend.
Holy Lord, help me to stay on your path every day, every moment. I am so thankful for the gift of your Holy Spirit to continue to guide me. Amen

1 Corinthians 15:33–34
How often have we, as parents, echoed these words in one way or another: “you will be judged by the company you keep.” Although Paul was warning the people of Corinth about those who did not believe in God or Jesus resurrection, this lesson resonates today. How easily lead away from God we can be. It takes strength and perseverance. We need to attend church, study our Bibles, pray and sing praises. Only then can we drowned out the noise of disbelief.
Prayer: gracious God, thank you for giving me the tools to keep myself in “good Company.” Amen

1 Corinthians 15:33-34
Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
The Christians in Corinth were doing many wrong things , which lead to wrong behaviour. When people come together, they can be very powerful. This can be a good and helpful thing. Unfortunately, people do not always make the best choices, and sometimes this can cause other people to follow along or stumble. People’s expectations or desires or actions can cause us to confirm to the behavior that we think will help us look better i…
1Corinthians 15:33-34 “Bad company corrupts good character” is as succinct as it gets. There is another bit of advice from a list of “Ten Principles to Conquer Stubborn Habits” in my PrayerMate software. It is, “Those who do not love the Lord will not help me serve Him.” Same concept. If I surround myself with people of dubious character, my sin nature is such that they would influence me far more easily than I could influence them. This is why the small groups focused on our faith that we all are a part of are so important to our spiritual formation. As it says in Scripture, “iron sharpens iron.” Faith is built and maintained in community.
