A Daily Devotion for Wednesday, July 2

Isaiah 40:31

…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

It is difficult to set aside how I may feel in the moment, for the hope and faith that I will rest in eternity. Sometimes the right now is pretty uncomfortable. God has made us promises, and eternity with Him is one of them. But He also promised and sent His Holy Spirit, which is here with us right now. Whatever we are going through, we have His love, guidance and protection. When eternity feels so far away that it does not bring comfort, I can turn to the Holy Spirit.

Holy Lord, you do provide for me everything that I need. I am so grateful. Be with me today, Lord, and hold me close, I pray. Amen

Isaiah 65:17-25. and. Isaiah 40:31

As I read Isaiah 65, i was once again struck by that wonderful verse of hope #25. 17-25 are titled A New Heaven and New Earth. Verse 25 reads in part, "The wolf and the lamb will feed together. . . . . no one will be hurt or destroyed on my Holy Mountain." God offers us so much promise and so much hope with these words. Our world is in such chaos right now. Our own country so divided. I can only hope God steps in and puts things right! I must ask him several times a day to intervene and heal our world. I keep dreaming for the day when the…

Isaiah 40:31

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

When I think of an eagle I invision a huge beautiful bird flying alone, against the blue sky. The  strength and nature of the eagle gives it the courage to soar alone., spending time alone with God will allow him to renew my strength which will benefit all my circumstances. He helps me not to lose my temper, or speak words I will regret later., I need to rise above ordinary circumstances and soar like the eagle.,This…

Isaiah 40:31

While we “wait” God gives us the strength we need to endure this earthly life. Sometimes we can get really caught up in certain events in our lives and sometimes we don’t immediately reach out to God but He is there, nevertheless, to push us through our troubles and get us past our angst. He reigns over all and a place in paradise awaits. I need to set my impatience aside and not get caught up in the world’s distractions (and there are many). Like it is said, “keep your eye on the prize”.

Dear God, thank you for being the masterful Creator you are and for all my earthly blessings. I pray You make me an instrument…

Isaiah 40:31 For me, this verse has always brought to my mind perseverance. God is on the other side of adversity. I tend toward impatience despite repeated experience of the value of patience and persistence in the face of various difficulties. Exhibit A is before me today. At 1:00 I will be leading the first interfaith service at Scout Camp since it was discontinued three years ago. It has taken all that time, lots of effort patience and perseverance to make this happen. The Lord worked in His timing to see this through, but today it is a reality and I am soaring on wings like and eagle.

Prayer - Thank you, Lord for the opportunity to minister to young people…
