John 10: 7-10
Therefore Jesus said again, "very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
It is so comforting to know that when we turn to Jesus, not only is he there, but he is already watching over us. When we follow Jesus, he is keeping track of our whereabouts, and he cares about how we are doing. We are not alone with Christ as our shepherd.
Holy Lord, I need only to turn my heart in your direction to know you are already watching over me. I am truly thankful. Amen

John 10:7-10
So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
This scripture is lengthy but it is so full of promise from our lord and savior. How could we not believe this, of course you have to be a believer. God has promised us so…
John 10:7-10
Although it seems like an old fashioned comparison, Shepherd is the perfect word to describe Jesus. He cares for us, he is always with us, we know his voice—his words that guide us, and we trust in him. He us our refuge in times of trouble or sorrow.
Prayer: Gracious God, I know I can count on your love and protection. Thank you for shepherding me always. Amen
John 10: 7-10 Here is where I hear Jesus telling me and reassuring me that he is indeed my shepherd he will guide me, protect me, love me and I need to only continue to follow him…
Dear Good and Gracious God, please help me to continue to follow you and to listen and know that you are my shepherd Amen
John 10: 7-10 Jesus as shepherd is a frequent and very evocative image of His role in our lives. I don’t personally know and have never even seen a real shepherd at work, but from what little I know from my observations of lambs and sheep, the analogy is perfect. We are so often confused, stubborn, frightened, distractible, wayward and just plain stupid. Yet there is Jesus, patiently calling to us, guiding us in the way to go, offering protection from the thieves, killers and destroyers of our faith, correcting and/or soothing us as the situation requires. This is the Jesus the world needs to know.
Prayer - Great Shepherd of my life, I listen for Your voice in the cacophony…
