Romans 5:1-11
verses 1-5: Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
God has poured out his love into our hearts. Because of this love, I can always have hope. The Holy Spirit lives in me. This is one of the reasons I know God loves me. When I suffer, it is about earthly things. My hope is that there is no suffering in an eternity with God.
Lord, May my suffering lead to perseverance and character, and ultimately to my hope of an eternity in your presence. Amen

Romans 5:1-11Verses. verses 2-4 Verse 2 ....We confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. You and I don’t know how long we have to live. We don’t know the troubles that lie between us and death. We don’t know the mistakes that we will make. But Paul tells us that our position is secure. We don’t have to worry about it. We can confidently look forward to heaven. It’s a done deal. We can look forward to it, because nothing can take it away. In fact, Paul even mentions in verses 3 and 4 that not even problems can take our hope away. Hope is what keeps us going when we’re ready to give up on ourse…
There are times when it is difficult to reconcile God's love for us and the burdens that we bear in our earthly life. We only need to trust in him and know that God loves us no matter what.
I have been reading Psalm 118:24 each morning lately – “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” After reading it this morning I open an email from my niece. She told me that her husband of 50 years has come down with a form of dementia that is faster developing than Alzheimer's. It is hard to reconcile the two messages. Please pray for Gael Johnson. She will need all the help she can get.
Dear Lord please make Gael aware of the Holy Spirit in her life, who will sustain her through this ordeal. All I can do is ask for a miracle for Hutch because there is no medical…
Romans 5: 1-11
5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Hope, the one thing that has gotten me through so many challenges in my life. Hope in God’s love and forgiveness plays a major role in my life. It is through this hope and the work of the Holy Spirit, that I have been able to accept this journey in life. I know that hope and faith have been a major part of my life and will continue to be. To me this is God’s special gift that I can wrap my head and heart around. G…
Romans 5:8 - “But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.”
Who would you die for? Child? Spouse? Relative? Close friend? Co-worker? The guy who lives across the street? It is all but impossible to contemplate that Jesus died for His enemies. Sinners are enemies of God and for them (us!) He sacrificed Himself. Skeptics find this ridiculous. Christians, however, find eternal life.
Prayer - Jesus, perfect Lamb slain for the sins of the world, I thank You for the salvation You provided to all who believe when you were crucified on Calvary’s hill. Teach me to love as You have loved us. Amen.
