1Peter 4:10-11

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

These two verses remind me to be aware: all I have, all I am, and all I am able to do, comes from God and should reflect His love. I should not be miserly or overly concerned about appearance, performance, perfection, etc. As long as I do my best and remember it is God who is sending me out, it will be a good day.

Holy Lord, I thank you for the gifts you have so freely given. Lead me to always do my best, for you, and for my neighbors. Amen

Becky, transforming

1 Peter 4:10-11. Sharing our Talents

So many people think they have no gifts to give. But these verses say otherwise. Most

Translations say:

As each has received a gift use whatever…..

Use whatever gift you have received …..

Just as each one has received a gift ….

God has given each of you a gift …..

And on it goes.

Our problem is that we often don’t think of some of the things we do as gifts. Regular calling on people in your congregation. Sending cards to shit-ins and others. Greeting people as they come in to church. Always seeking new people to include and invite them to stay after the service. These gifts, though you may thin…

Sharing Your Talents

((Focus For Confidence To Share My Talents

Today’s Reading 1 Peter 4:10-11

1 Peter 4:10

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:

I just loved the author in the upper room this morning, it so reminds me of our dear beloved Becky. Caring and sharing our gifts has been the theme of this week’s lessons. The Holy Spirit has given each one of us special gifts. Some people think they have the best gifts, while others think they have no special gifts at all. What are my gifts? Since I can’t use the excuse that I have no gifts. I have…

1 Peter 4:10-11

All our gifts and talents have value in God‘s eyes. Our gifts and talents are actually God given and they do not belong to us, we are the “stewards” of these gifts and talents. How we use our gifts is what really matters. It matters because these gifts are meant to share. God has entrusted us with something special and valuable, and we should use those “valuables” to serve and bring Him glory, glory He so richly deserves because of the grace He offers us and every other blessing He has provided.

Heavenly Father, please let the way I live and serve bring You glory. I pray that others see Your goodness through my actions. Amen.

1Peter 4:10-11

Identifying the spiritual gifts God has graced us with and putting them to use for people, both within and outside of the Church is an excellent demonstration of God’s love. Serving with the strength God provides and the compassion taught by Jesus are acts of worship and praise that may go unthanked, but will very rarely go completely unnoticed. No matter the reaction, God is given the glory and for ever and ever.

Prayer - Lord God please grant me the willingness to joyfully serve You in whatever way You would direct. Through that service, may your love be made known to others, particularly those who are not yet part of Your family. Amen
