A Daily Devotion for Tuesday, June 7

1 Corinthians 12:26

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

This passage is part of Paul’s description of the church as one body with different but important parts that need to work together. I find thinking about the church as a family just as meaningful. It is too easy to dismiss the struggles and pain of others when they are far away or unknown to us personally. Sometimes the Spirit leads us to “discover” someone in need or hurting. We must listen, and follow the Spirit, because it has identified one of God’s creation who is in need.

Holy One, you speak to me through your Spirit, and I am so thankful. Help me to provide a measure of comfort where you lead me. Amen
