My flesh and my heart shall fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 145:14
The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
These verses remind me that sometimes we fail through no fault of our own. I have worked with people who have been through so much emotional and physical trauma in their lives that their bodies actually begin to fail as a result. I often wonder about the presence or absence of God in those lives. Sometimes I have the opportunity to talk about that with them. But I pray today that God might enter into those lives in an unmistakable way. Lord, I pray that you might speak directly to those who especially need to hear from you. Help them to know there is healing for them, and that they always can turn to you for comfort and hope. Amen

Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Even if our flesh, our heart or our spirit may grow weak or fail, God is still forever our strength. This means that even if our body will be struck with the worst diseases, or if our heart gets broken over and over again, or if we are crushed in spirit and see no hope, God will forever be our strength, our comfort. God! Life lessons are learned by trusting God in those hard and difficult places of life.

Failure can surely make one feel “bowed down,” and that can be a very lonely sensation. The one constant believers can claim is that even in the midst of that failure they are not abandoned by God. In God we find the hope to persevere, learn from the failure and emerge to strive again.
Prayer - Ever present God, through joys and failures You surround Your children with love. I pray that all would vividly sense Your presence in trying times and lean on the hope only Your love can provide. Amen
