1Peter 5:8
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
Just this morning, right now, I am distracted by financial issues. Even though I have this time set aside for reading the Bible and listening for God’s direction, other worries and concerns keep crowding in. Our kids (fully grown adults), our dog, our future, our retirement, all crowd their way into my head at all kinds of times. To me, this verse is about Satan’s opportunities to mess with us. There are plenty.
Lord, help me to be watchful, alert, and always seeking you. Help me to keep distractions to a minimum. Amen

Believers have been given the golden opportunity to keep Satan at bay during our sojourn here on earth. Seizing that opportunity will make heaven that much sweeter.
Prayer - Sovereign God, I pray for Your protection from Satan’s deceit and temptations. Keep me alert and sober-minded. I rest in the Scriptural promise that if I resist the devil,…
