1 Peter 3:10-12
For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
Peter uses Psalm 34 to teach about integrity. Today when I read this I am thinking about prayer and how prayer establishes a line of communication. If I am haphazard and inconsistent with my prayer life, how do I expect to receive instruction and guidance? If my heart is pure and seeks God, He will listen for my prayers. If I know God is attentive to my prayers, I will be listening for Him.
Lord, help me to live in a way which pleases you. Help me to hold my tongue, and replace harsh words with understanding or even silence. I will listen for you. Amen

1 Peter 3:10-12 For, whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongues from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.
This is such a common sense verse. Gossiping and lying about others is hard work. You must remember untruths and hurtful stories about people and keep them straight when you retell them. It is so much easier to be quiet. There is good in the world if we stop and look and listen. We can love life and see good days.

I feel I have been guilty of not keeping a positive attitude in times of difficulties. I have to remember to keep a positive attitude when life’s challenges come my way. It is through this faith in God that will demonstrate trust that He will be there for me an…
1 Peter 3:10-12
Peter’s advice is to love the life that God has graciously given me, and to make the most of time that I have on earth, by faith and thankfulness - by controlling my tongue from speaking evil and my lips from telling lies. Noticing the words that make me happy when people speak them to me, makes me want to speak them to others. I am becoming more aware when I develop a wrong attitude toward my circumstances, my acquaintances, and as a result, hasty words and complaining speech is often the consequence of this wrong attitude. as I follow the example of Peter by making the most of the life that God has given me, …
1 Peter 3:10-12 - . . . “he must seek peace and pursue it . . .”
This phrase echoes the James admonition we studied yesterday and applies it to peace. In nearly every daily prayer from the District there is mention made of peace and justice. All is based in Scripture and is a subject that warrants prayer, but 1Peter confronts us to act. One can seek peace all day long, but it must be pursued to be made reality. We are to put actions behind our words or what we espouse is merely empty virtue signaling.
Prayer - Prince of Peace, guide me in the ways of Your peace. Let me reflect the peace You bring in not…
