Deuteronomy 7:12-14
If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the LORD your God will keep his covenant of love with you, as he swore to your ancestors. He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land—your grain, new wine and olive oil —the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor will any of your livestock be without young.
Psalm 66:20
Praise be to God,
who has not rejected my prayer
or withheld his love from me!
The words in the psalm are easier for me to relate to than the passage from Deuteronomy. As we know from history, things do not always go perfectly well, even for solid faithful believers. For me this morning, the message comes from Psalm 66: I need to be continually thankful to God, for hearing my prayers, and listening to me and accompanying me, whatever I walk through. When God’s love feels far away, I will remember to sit quietly, like those under the banyan tree, and listen for him, and pray.
Holy Lord, I ask you to be with our family and friends this weekend for this special time. If there are any at the wedding who do not yet know you as their loving Father, I pray that you speak to them. I will keep my eyes open for opportunities to share your love. Amen

Deuteronomy 7:12-14. Psalm 66:20. The Prayer Tree
Today’s Upper Room author came to understand that we need to do more than pray. “It is about being still enough to hear God’s answer in unexpected ways.” Being still is difficult in our world today. We seem to need to fill each and every moment with noise. I try to put aside the noise so I can listen to Him. I manage to do it occasionally, but need to work harder at not working so hard.
Prayer: Gracious God, our time with you is precious. Help me find more quiet time to be with you. AMEN

Today’s Reading Deuteronomy 7:12-14
Psalm 66:20
Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!
if there is sin in our lives we will not be able to pray boldly or with confidence. We need to ask ourselves is there anything we may be hiding from God. To put it plainly the God
Will not hear our prayers if we come before him with sin hidden in our hearts. He wants us to confess our sin so that he may cleanse us and restore a true full heart. There is power in trust and honesty when we confess before the Lord. God never…
Deuteronomy 7:12-14 / Psalm 66:20
“ God will keep His covenant of love with you”, this is what sticks out to me in this reading. I know everything good in my life is a product of God‘s love. The wonderful thing about this is that I don’t have to earn that love, God simply loves me and takes care of me, no strings attached. This unconditional love helps me stay close to God and trust Him. The greatest blessings is knowing that He is with me and will never leave.
Dear God, thank You for loving me and taking care of me. Thank You for all the blessings in my life. Please help me to always remember that everything good…
Deuteronomy 7:12-14/Psalm 66:20
The blessings of God’s covenant of love are so numerous, they can be overlooked or taken for granted. Indeed, God has not withheld His love from me. Deuteronomy declares, “He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land . . .” This is reflected daily in the blessings of my marriage, my children and extends as far as the “crops of my land” that I am able to share on Sundays at church. The best and most cherished blessings are the simplest. This requires our attention to their presence amidst the noise of the world. A little time each day under our…
