1 Corinthians 13:4-6
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
In these verses, truth is that special ingredient which makes love grow and “rejoice”. Even though we aren’t promised prosperity or excellent health, we know the truth. We have the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This truth makes our lives not just tolerable, but beautiful. Today I am especially thankful for my relationship with God. May His holy love and truth shine from me. Amen
Happy Thanksgiving Day!

1 Corinthians 13:4-6
God requires us to put our faith in Jesus Christ; nothing less will satisfy either us or him
The Bible emphasizes the fact that we just believe. Jesus said, “If you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24, ) it is not so much about(me) the one trusting, but rather the one being trusted (Jesus) I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me.” (John 14:6) .Paul’s words about love are so familiar to most of us. I read it so often but slowly, in order to consider each word. As much as I cherish these words …
1 Corinthians 13: 4-6
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
I feel that this verse is telling me to always think before I speak. The old saying, “that if you can’t say anything good, don’t say anything at all” is right in line with this verse. We should always speak using words to support and uplift, rather than to tear people down. It takes discipline, but speaking the truth does not always mean we have to say everything that comes into our head. If the truth would hurt, don’t speak.
Dearest Lord, how many times have I said something in anger and hurt the person I was…
1 Corinthians 13:4-6
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
Love has so many dimensions and I can “rejoice with the truth” here. I can love Jesus without ever meeting him in person, I can love people who guide us and service and defend us, I can love friends and family and especially my wife. But I have a way to go to be patient and kind and slow to anger. These verses are some of many in the bible that set goals for us that we may never achieve but keep us trying.
Dear Lord thank you for challenging us to be better and showing us how to do it. Amen.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 These beautiful verses are often quoted. The love Paul is speaking of is God‘s love. It is love given without expecting anything in return. And unselfish love. With God’s help we can offer this kind of love to those around us. It all comes down to 1Corinthians 13:13. Three things will last forever – faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of these is love. Then what a wonderful world this would be. Prayer, Gracious God, May I always remember that you want me to love everything and everyone around me. Amen Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
