Romans 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Paul certainly had a “close encounter” with God. It is clear he was chosen to spread God’s gospel to the world, specifically the Gentiles in his time. This confidence and this assurance of God’s love for us became part of the fiber of Paul’s being. I do long for close encounters with God. But one reason we have God’s Word is to remind us of all of man’s interactions with God. We learn and gain assurance from man’s history with God, not just our own personal experience.
Father God, I know you live in me. I am sorry for the times I question, and lack assurance. Thank you for leaving us your Holy Word, so that we can be taught and reassured through the experiences of other pilgrims, in other times. Amen

Romans 8: 38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor an powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything wise in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
These verses tell me that nothing in life or death will separate me from God’s love. Jesus won’t ever let me go. Once I give myself to Jesus nothing can separate me from God’s love in Christ. This gives me the assurance that nothing will take me away from God’s love. He loves me and will never stop loving me.
Dearest Lord, your love me for is…
Romans 8:38-39
These strong words of assurance from Paul, who lived and died for Christ, have to be believed. I do believe that God’s love is there for me always. I must try harder to receive it, to recognize it and be thankful for it. As Oswald Chambers told me this morning – I must spend more time worshipping God on a daily basis. Amen.
Romans 8:38-39
These verses contain one of the most comforting promises in all of scripture. Paul explains that it is impossible to be separated from Christ. His death for us is proof of his unconditional love. Nothing can stop Christ’s constant presence with me /us. Knowing how great his love is for me, as I continue my spiritual journey, gives me the overwhelming assurance I should not be afraid. I should be strong enough not to dread things, I wouldn’t fear the unknown and I wouldn’t live in anxiety about what is going to happen next. No matter what comes my way in life, I can face it with God’s help. these verses are such assurance for me. (Without h…
Romans 8:38-39
The kind of assurance of which Paul writes exudes confidence without unseemly swagger. If we can master this balance, our witness for Christ to others is more genuine and effective. Calm, but firm confidence captures hearts and minds far better than arrogant condescension. We are, after all fallen people like everyone else. But the love of God that is in Christ has picked us back up for eternity.
Prayer - God of love, I give thanks for the incomparable gift of salvation through Jesus Christ And for the assurance that nothing on this earth can separate us from this gift. Amen

Romans 8:308–39 Paul uses these beautiful words to assure us that God‘s love is always there. I think the only thing that separates us from God is ourselves. I know there have been times in my life where I felt alone and far from God. But now I know that I only have to call for him and he will lead me out of my loneliness. For someone who likes to be in control, this was a difficult lesson. Now he is the first person I turn to each and every day. Prayer: gracious God thank you for this reminder that you are always there for me, always! Amen
