Hosea 11:1-4
“When Israel was a child, I loved him,
and out of Egypt I called my son.
But the more they were called,
the more they went away from me.
They sacrificed to the Baals
and they burned incense to images.
It was I who taught Ephraim to walk,
taking them by the arms;
but they did not realize
it was I who healed them.
I led them with cords of human kindness,
with ties of love.
To them I was like one who lifts
a little child to the cheek,
and I bent down to feed them.“
This is a reminder to me that even when I am off- track, God is with me, guiding and forgiving. In this new year, I would like to begin each day with thankfulness to God. And I would like to keep my eyes and ears open, and my heart ready, to experience God’s responses to my prayers, and to the prayers of others I do not even know. I would like to see the goodness in everyone I meet, and show only goodness and God’s love to them. I pray for all of those suffering and fearful today, that they feel that peace of God, which transcends all understanding. God be with us, I pray, in this new year. Amen

Tom,
There is some indication of hope that Christianity is be born in a group of people. Turning Point USA is seeing a growth in belief in college students. I am hopeful.

Hosea 11:1-4
These words are another example in the Bible of God’s love and presence in our lives, even when we stray. It is like the parent of a naughty child, when we stray God is there to hold our hands, to teach us and guide us and provide for us all we need to live a life that puts Him first.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your presence in my life, for Your neverending forgiveness when I stray and for Your gift of salvation. I don’t feel worthy but there You are, never failing. I lift prayers of gratitude to You. In Jesus name, Amen.
Hosea 11:1-4
“But the more they were called,
the more they went away from me.” Is this what is happening in the world around us? I read an article this week about the troubled state of Christianity in Europe. While there was no direct reference to the US, it seems to me we are following the same dangerous pattern here, albeit we are many years, perhaps decades, from where Europe stands now. Led by the Holy Spirit, there is still a critical mass of believers in this country to reach those who do not realize it is Jesus, God with us, who heals them through kindness with ties of love.
Prayer - Lord, You have led us into the promise…
