Hebrews 10:19-22
Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
It occurred to me today that for a person who came to Christ from a solid faith of their own, such as the early Jews, this description of the accessibility of God would have perhaps been even more amazing than it is to us, reading it today. We have always known God to be accessible and forgiving. We begin with Jesus, the most present and inviting aspect of our Creator. We have never feared approaching God, as this all changed with Jesus.
Holy Lord, you have walked among us, and you have given us your Holy Spirit to continue to be with us always. May I never forget you are with me. Amen

Hebrews 10:19-22
As I read this several times, I see that Jesus sacrifice for us has eliminated the “middleman.” In ancient times and even today in some denominations (I think) the people use the priest between them and God. I cannot imagine not having my conversations with God, but needing someone between me and God. AND Jesus has provided that for me.
Prayer: Gracious God, Thank you for always being there to listen to me. Amen

Jesus has opened the way for us through the curtain. Before the cross, no one was allowed to enter the holy of holies except one man once a year. Even then, He had to pass through a large veil (or curtain) It…
Hebrews 10:19-22
The phrase that sticks with me from this morning’s reading is “the full assurance that faith brings.” The presence of God can be felt, even by one who does not have faith. Sadly, God’s presence is unappreciated, misinterpreted or even resisted. Have you ever noticed how, if the wrong key is struck and “God” is misspelled as “Hod,” it is never corrected by spell check? This, to me, represents the secular world’s dogged persistence in avoiding and even denying God’s presence. The gift of faith, however, assures believers that God Is not only with us, but will never leave, nor forsake us. Hallelujah!
Prayer - Almighty God, thank You for the full assurance of Your presence that faith…
