Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
These are beautiful words which hold so much truth and comfort. The peace is there for me- it has been promised to me. When I feel myself becoming anxious, or if I notice I already am anxious, prayer needs to be the first step; prayer with thanksgiving. While I am thinking about this, I am realizing that the “thanksgiving” part is not so automatic for me. There is always a place for thankfulness to God. I need to remember that.
Holy Lord, I am thankful for the road you have placed me on. I know you walk beside me and are always ready to take my hand or even pick me up. Forgive me, Lord, for the times I have forgotten to acknowledge and give you thanks for your guidance and love. Amen

Philippians 4:4-7 Don't forget to ask
It took me months before I realized I needed some help with my "bible Study" at the nursing home. A bit of prayer and frustration finally led me to ask someone with more experience. I was given a few good suggestions, one of which I was familiar and could see being the answer. That solution has brought success and much joy for me. As I often do, I forgot to seek help instead of struggling alone. This is my major flaw.
Prayer; Gracious God, I often forget that you are by my side and I think I am alone. Forgive me. AMEN

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Why are we to pray and not be anxious or worried. Because knowing his peace is the only way we can give all of our cares to the lord. As long as we are worrying we are not trusting God. It is only by trusting ,with faith and confidence in the lord that we are able to enjoy the peace that transaction all understanding. When i m feeling worried, stressed, or fearful instead of just letting it consume me I hope I remember…
Philippians 4:4-7
“Let your gentleness be evident to all.” In countless readings of this passage over several decades, the sentence above strikes me today with the most emphasis. In our culture, “gentleness” is the last thing one would see in this sentence. The world would write, toughness, intelligence, power, wealth, strength, possessions, anything but gentleness. This is a large part of the struggles of modern life. The fruit of the world is more highly valued than the fruit of the Spirit. Nevertheless, if enough believers let their gentleness be made known to all, the peace which transcends all our limited human understanding just may envelop those who do not know Jesus and bring them closer to belief themselves.
Prayer -…
Philippians 4:4-7
Prayer is powerful and one of the cornerstones of my faith. It is what I turn to when I am troubled and what I turn to when I am joyful. I know that prayers are all acknowledged but the answers to my prayers are not obvious or in my timeline but sometimes prayers are answered immediately. I can think of two very recent times when my prayer was answered literally while I was praying it! While I always pray my gratitude when a prayer is answered, I need to focus more on starting my prayer and petitions with gratitude. I MUST DO BETTER.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of prayer, it is comforting, it settles me…
