John 1:40-41
Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ).
Andrew was a follower of John the Baptist, and heard John call Jesus the “Lamb of God.” John then immediately began to follow behind Jesus. He was with him for a day or two and then went directly to his brother and proclaimed what he now knew. What was it about Andrew that allowed him to see the Truth so clearly? And he immediately went to his brother Simon. Simon may have taken a while to fully understand what John accepted almost immediately. We are all different, our faith and our understanding are all different. We are not each one intended (or able or willing) to experience God in the same way. Our paths to accepting and knowing Christ are very different. But Christ is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Holy Lord, what a gift you have given your creation with your Word, your written scripture of truth. It is through your scripture that Andrew was able to anticipate and understand the importance of John’s words describing Jesus. May I fully understand and fully follow you. Amen

John 1:40-41
Even before these men accepted Jesus as the Messiah, there were others. The Shepherds were told by the Angels to go see this baby, this Messiah. They did this and then spread the word about what they had seen. It makes me wonder if maybe others came that night and what they thought. It must have been difficult to believe that this baby could be the longed-for Messiah. There are so many gaps in the story.. I wonder if these shepherds and the townfolks held on to the story and maybe realized later the connection between the babe and the man called Jesus who was doing wondrous things.

John 1:40-41
One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ).
Andrew was one of the very first disciples to meet Jesus.. The first thing he did after he started following Jesus, he searched and found his brother and told him about Jesus! Wouldn’t it be nice if I could be like Andrew bringing others to Jesus. I don’t see myself as having many talents. I wonder how God might use a person like me. I’m not the greatest Bible scholar. I don’t have a terrific singing voice.…
John 1: 40–41
‘To have the faith of Andrew. It made me think that if my neighbor knocked on my door and said, “hey, there’s a guy who is going to change our lives, come with me”, would I? Probably not before checking where he was from and checking his LinkedIn account, stalking him on Facebook and looking at his Google reviews. That aside, having the faith that Andrew and Simon had is our example. I know I need to stop trying to make earthly sense of some of the things the Bible teaches us. God knows what he is doing and we should have faith in all he does, most of all, faith, and his son Jesus, sent for…
John 1:40-41
Simon Peter went on to become the most prominent apostle and de facto head of the new Church after the death and Resurrection of Jesus. Jesus, Himself, made this declaration. Yet Simon’s journey could not start without his brother Andrew. It seems Andrew’s heart was very spiritually oriented and open to things of God. He saw something in John the Baptist and then in Jesus that compelled him to convince Simon that Messiah had at last arrived. In 2024 as we await anew for the baby Messiah’s birth, we can be as excited as Andrew was when he saw the 30-year-old Messiah. The question is, with whom will we share this Good News? To who will we say…
