A Daily Devotion for Monday, June 14

Deuteronomy 31:7-8

Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their forefathers to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Sometimes things don’t go the way we thought they would go. And sometimes we just don’t like going through what we know we have to go through. But God’s promises do not change. My life with God has only grown richer and more meaningful over these last three years with Pastor Gil. This essential and precious part of my life cannot be taken away. God will be here with me today and tomorrow as well as all the tomorrows to come.

Father God, thank you for sending Pastor Gil to lead us. He has done so much to help me, and to help all of us, to seek you, to find you, and to make a comfortable home for you in our hearts. I am so grateful to you. Please protect Pastor Gil and his family; he is so very precious to us. Amen
