Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
How many times have I read this verse, and not really taken it in? When we believe in God, if we truly put our faith in Him, then we know that he has good plans for us. Our present road may be rough and painful, and sometimes there is no end in sight. There are situations we are forced by circumstance to live through, and have no control over. If I take in this scripture, I know that there is good in God’s plan. I believe.
Lord God, help me to remember these words you spoke to us through the prophet Jeremiah. Help me to see my path, and know you are by my side. Help me to remember you have a plan for me, and it is your good will at work. Amen

To my mind, God gave her what she needed, but in a way that kept her personally invested in her own education.
Prayer: Gracious God, While we often wonder exactly what your plans for us are, if we pay attention to the talents you gave us, we will know. AMEN
Jeremiah 29:11 This verse is a good companion to the short passage from Philippians that accompanied it this morning. God’s plan to prosper and not harm, to give hope and a future, unfolds over many years and a wide variety of circumstances, some of which can be very trying. Paul’s admonition to be content in all circumstances reflects a faith that accepts and believes the words of the prophet, Jeremiah. God’s plan for us over our lifetime will have twists and turns we could have never imagined, Faith allows us to stay the course just like the cast of characters from Sunday’s sermon from Hebrews 11. Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham and Sarah were guided by faith even though their reward, their…
