2 Corinthians 4:7
We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
Here is a nice poem I found about this verse:
We are jars of clay,
God’s earthen vessels
filled with His power
at all kinds of levels.
Power to open,
eyes that are blind
power to enlighten
the uninformed mind.
Power to proclaim,
to all the Good News
power to rise above
any opposing views.
Power to know,
when we need to be still
power to go and do
what is God’s perfect will.
God’s earthen vessels,
with His power infused
fragile clay jars . . .
by Him to be used.

Holy Lord, we are clay jars, yet you find us worthy to be filled. I am so very thankful, Amen

2 Corinthians 4:7
We are all jars of clay and what God fills our jars with is what sustains us, with His power and His Grace, whatever our woes may be. I like what the Upper Room writer wrote, “it is the power of our mighty God that helps us to persist”. I know in my heart that He does not break us down, He builds us up and He doesn’t give us what we expect, He gives us what we need. No matter how fragile our jars are, God fills us with everything we need.
Heavenly Father, I praise you and I thank you for filling my jar. Amen

2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.
This scripture is very confusing to me today. Scripture tells us that our weakness is made perfect by God’s strength. I don’t understanding the meaning of the jars of clay. I paraphrased this scripture and this is what it said. We who are called to serve God are like fragile clay jars, holding a priceless treasure—the message of God's salvation—to make it clear that the incredible power and glory belong to God, not to us,…
2 Corinthians 4:7 Becky and I walked 21 miles today and it took 12 hours. Kay (our daughter), could have done it in 7 hours, Becky alone could have been done in 10 hours. My clay jars are in the form of arthritic knees that make my pace on climbs and descents that of a disabled snail. Nevertheless, God’s all-surpassing power has brought us safely to our next place of rest.
Prayer - Lord, You are teaching me daily. Continue to walk with me as I test my physical limits. Amen
