A Daily Devotion for Friday, November 5

1Peter 2:24

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

This is the ultimate healing. We no longer need to fear death as the beginning of nothingness. We have been promised otherwise. Our very souls have been healed by the sacrifice of Christ. I admit, sometimes I am fearful this sounds too good to be true. Am I presuming too much when I include myself in this promise? God tells me otherwise, with these words and in many other ways.

Father God, I know I am undeserving. I also know I am one of your children, and you include me in your promises. I will do my best. Help me to be an example to others. Amen
