Galatians 4:4-5
But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.
We know now that adoption to sonship does not only include the Jewish people, but the Gentiles and any person who comes to know and accept Christ as their savior. Sometimes I lose the scope of God's intentions here (as if I could ever really know!), and feel excluded because of being so far removed from Jesus in time. But we know God's time is so very different from ours. I choose to be adopted into the family of Christ. I believe. Amen

Galatians 4:5
To redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.

Galatians 4:4-5
I am old enough to remember my mom saving S&H Green Stamps. They would be placed in booklets and redeemed for merchandise of various descriptions. My memory is that it took a crazy amount of stamps to get something of any quality. How unlike the redemption available to us in Christ! We are redeemed through belief in the One sent to redeem us. Can it be that simple? We don’t need to collect good works like Green Stamps to earn God’s favor? Scripture is clear. Our good works are in thanksgiving for our adoption. We must remember to keep the horse before the cart.
Prayer - Gracious God, as we witness the darkness around us, we give thanks…
