Daily Prayer

July 10, 2022

A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

Holy One, I thank you for your story of love that continues to unfold – even in this very morning. I’m grateful for our spiritual ancestors, whose lives faithfully laid up hope for us – even for me. We thank you that all of us can have this hope in you and a place in the story. O Lord, on this day, I am awake and aware. When I come eyes wide open, face to face, with another’s woundedness, I’ll have the courage not to dismiss or turn away or rationalize or walk on by, but instead, to embrace the opportunity to show mercy and care for my neighbor. When I come eyes wide open, face to face, with my own woundedness, Will I have the courage to accept the mercy and care from another?  Will it be offered from the neighbor that I least want to see? Thank you for your word of truth and for the opportunity today to participate in your ongoing story of love, grace, and reconciliation. Amen.   Rev. Ted Crass, President, The United Methodist Foundation of New England Inspiration: Colossians 1.1-14, Luke 10.25-37
