Today's Prayer
When you awakened my father from lifeless nights in the hospital almost twenty years ago, When you freed him into your eternal home after years of suffering, When you revived my soul after the sudden loss of loved ones, When you brought my mother out of the incentive care unit just this past spring, You have turned my mourning into dancing, O God of lingering nights and ever renewing mornings. Each time I danced for and with you…all day with tears and smile Each time my dancing slowed and stopped… While you never stopped your dancing to lift me up and create all things new in and around me. Forgive my slowed and stopped dancing. Forgive my chronic forgetfulness. Bring your morning light into the depth of my soul at every dawn.
