Daily Prayer

A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

"May I?" Luke 9:51-62, 2 Kings 2:1-2, 6-14 Beloved God, When we can’t see where our leader, our teacher, where you are going, We may beg to follow as far as we can. We may pretend it’s not happening. We may weaponize our frustration. We may want to show off the power given to us. We may long for a little more of what you have to give. We may underestimate what our impulse to follow will cost us. We may assume there will be time to finish other things that matter. It is hard not to look back even as our hearts yearn forward toward you. As this mantle passes, If we may ask one thing, may it be worthy of you. AMEN By Rev. Karen L. Munson, DMIN, Many Waters District Superintendent
