Daily Prayer

April 30, 2022

A daily prayer from the New England Conference

Members of the New England Conference Extended Cabinet are sharing a daily prayer based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the week.

You are welcome to use these in worship or in your own devotions.

Today's Prayer

Loving God, so often it feels as though all our work yields no catch or harvest. We get caught up in our hopes and leave you out of the plan. Teach us again to try the other side that we might find a harvest that will press the limit of our nets and strength. Gather us in to share a simple meal of your grace in this new day. Allow it to be a time that encourages us again to join you in the work of shepherding love. Lead us to the places where we can humbly feed and tend those you have called us to love. Give us a strength and wisdom beyond our own that we would not let the fire of your love die. Your call at times leads us to places we do not wish to go, but if you lead we want to follow. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ our risen savior and lord. Amen. By Rev. Dr. Wesley Palmer, Preachers' Aid Society Executive Director Inspired by John 21: 1-19
